Former President Donald Trump recently made headlines when he took to his Truth Social platform on Tuesday morning to criticize billionaire Elon Musk.
According to Trump, Musk lied to him about voting for Joe Biden in 2020, and he also criticized Musk’s use of government subsidies.
The morning after Musk’s sit-down interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, where Musk revealed he voted for Biden despite not being a huge fan, Trump responded by saying, “I don’t believe Elon Musk voted for Biden, not for a minute! He told me that he voted for me, but who knows about that, and who cares?”
Trump went on to claim that Musk was trying to make friends with the “horrible” Biden Administration due to the subsidies and permits he receives for his various companies, including his space, car, battery, and tunnel companies, as well as Twitter, which Trump claims was illegally controlled by the FBI. Trump accused Musk of simply “mending fences” with the administration.
Recently, Musk has also been attacked by the far-right, with Trump’s former campaign manager and White House advisor, Steve Bannon, calling him a pro-China “traitor” who grifts off the American people.
Bannon accused Musk of taking billions in subsidies from the U.S. government and criticized him for opening new factories in Shanghai with CCP money, which could take business away from the U.S.
