The ban comes hot on the heels of Fox News’ decision to fire Tucker Carlson for his colorful description of a network executive.
According to reliable sources (read: an anonymous tweet), the Wall Street Journal broke the news while sipping on a steaming cup of scandal.
Musk, known for his subtle communication style and love of flamethrowers, took to Twitter to announce the ban: “Fox News, you’re out. #BanHammer #FiredForFiring.”
Twitter users, eager for a front-row seat to the chaos, rapidly consumed popcorn and live-tweeted their reactions with an average typing speed of 250 words per minute.
Despite the Wall Street Journal’s impeccable reputation for gossip (among other things), critics have argued that Elon Musk’s decision was less about defending the honor of the network executive and more about another opportunity to flex his digital muscles.
After all, who can forget the time Musk changed the color of every Tesla on the road to neon pink with the push of a button?
However, some have praised Musk’s decision, hailing it as a victory for civil discourse in the Twittersphere.
