Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, isn’t worried about anything, not even his own mortality. On the subject of longevity, Mr. Musk recently spoke with Mathias Dopfner, the CEO of Axel Springer, on a visit to Tesla’s plant in Fremont, California.
Mr. Musk has said that he would want to live longer, but he is not frightened of death. “I have no fear of death. I believe it would be a welcome change of pace “he said.
Mr. Dopfner inquired about “longevity” and “substantially extended life span,” and Mr. Musk provided a direct response. What Mr. Musk said was, “I don’t believe we should attempt to have people live very long lives. As a result, civilization would be suffocated to death since most individuals do not modify their beliefs.
They are just annihilated. As a result, “if they don’t die, we’ll be trapped with outdated notions and society won’t progress,” he says. Among the topics, he touched on were the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the exploration of outer space, and even loneliness. I’m sure we’ve all been lonely at one point or another, he added, and then he went on to say that he would miss his dog when he wasn’t working on the Starship rocket and was home alone.
According to Mr. Musk, “I feel rather lonely since I’m simply in a little home by myself with no dog,” remarked.
A “gerontocracy,” in which the government is predominantly dominated by individuals who are much older than the bulk of the population, is considered harmful by Elon Musk. He said that the leadership in the United States was “extremely, very old,” and that it was “difficult for leaders to keep in touch with the people.”
Because they didn’t expect people to live so long, founders of the United States had defined minimum ages for holding municipal office but did not list maximum ages. When it comes to politics, Mr. Musk believes that the optimal age for a leader should be between 10 and 20 years younger than the general population’s average age.
“I’d want to live long enough to see the ambition of SpaceX come to fruition,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk remarked in response to a comment from Mr. Dopfner. Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, Mr. Musk said that although “the United States has done a lot,” “we cannot allow Putin take over Ukraine.”
