ABC’s new owner, Elon Musk, has made a surprise move by hiring MSNBC host Rachel Maddow to join the panel of the popular daytime talk show “The View.”
The announcement came as a shock to both fans and critics of the show, as well as to Maddow’s own viewers, many of whom expressed surprise at the move.
According to a statement released by Musk’s spokesperson, the decision to hire Maddow was based on her “impressive track record as a journalist and commentator” and on her ability to “bring a unique perspective to the show.”
Maddow herself has yet to comment on the news, but sources close to her say that she is excited about the opportunity to reach a wider audience and to share her views with a new set of viewers.
The move is seen as part of Musk’s broader strategy to shake up the network and to appeal to a younger and more diverse demographic. Since taking over ABC, Musk has made a number of bold moves, including canceling some long-running shows and hiring a number of controversial figures to join the network’s roster.
Whether Maddow’s addition to “The View” will be a success remains to be seen, but for now, fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating her debut on the show.
