The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is very near to being over. On Friday (May 27), the attorneys delivered their concluding arguments, and the jury is scheduled to report back to court on May 30 to begin deliberations on the case. Fans have been debating the trial on social media for the last six weeks, and now Elon Musk, who was once in a relationship with Amber Heard, has spoken out about the same topic.
On his Twitter account, Elon Musk referred to the Hollywood celebrities as “incredible” and expressed his wish that they would go on with their lives. In his reply to another tweet that discussed the lessons learned from the trial, he sent a little message that he had written for his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard and for the actor Johnny Depp. He responded, “I hope they both go on. When they are at their very best, each of them is great.”
For those who are unaware, Elon and Amber Heard began dating in 2016, shortly after she ended her relationship with Johnny Depp. The couple got back together in 2018, however, they ended their relationship again after just a few short months of dating. During the defamation trial, Depp made the claim that Heard and Musk were involved in a relationship “no later than a month after their marriage,” which took place in February of 2015.
The actor’s legal team has also presented video evidence of Heard having “meetings” with Musk in the wee hours of the morning. During her testimony, Amber referred to Elon Musk as a “gentleman” and said that the two of them first met at the 2016 Met Gala after Johnny Depp embarrassed her there. She said to the jury that “I exited the vehicle and proceeded to walk the red carpet by myself while being accompanied by a member of Ralph Lauren’s staff.
I was effectively put in an awkward position on the carpet by Johnny, who sat next to an empty place setting for him.” She said, “It wasn’t until we began conversing that I realized who he was. He had brought to my attention that we had done so in the past. While we were standing in line on the red carpet, we had a conversation. He appeared like a wonderful gentleman.”
For those who are unaware, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard first crossed paths while working together on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009. They did not begin dating until a few years later. They wed in 2015, and the following year, Heard filed for divorce from Depp, alleging that Depp had physically assaulted her while they were married while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The divorce was finalized in 2016.
