In the tumultuous world of daytime TV, there’s no telling when an unexpected storm might brew. However, a tempest of epic proportions took place recently when Whoopi Goldberg, the sage of ‘The View,’ had a meltdown live on air, leading to her subsequent ban from the show. Yes, that’s right, the Whoopster has been booted off the sofa, and it’s all thanks to her losing her cool in an incredibly spectacular fashion.

For her part, Goldberg has been surprisingly upbeat about the incident. She released a statement on Twitter saying, “If standing up for pineapple on pizza is wrong, I don’t want to be right.” And in classic Whoopi style, she signed off with, “Remember, a pizza slice a day keeps the boredom away.”
Meanwhile, the remaining hosts of ‘The View’ have been dealing with the aftermath of the Pineapple Pizza War. Joy Behar remarked on the next show, “Well, that was one way to liven up our morning!” And Sunny Hostin added, “I knew Whoopi loved pizza, but who knew it was THIS much?”
To say that this incident has left everyone dazed would be an understatement. A debate about pizza toppings has led to an end of an era on ‘The View.’ Who would have thought? But in the unpredictable world of live TV, anything is possible, including passionate pizza-related meltdowns.
