In an absolutely bonkers turn of events that you couldn’t even fabricate if you tried, Whoopi Goldberg has been voted as the ‘Most Hated Person in Hollywood’ by her own fellow panelists on ‘The View’. That’s right, the stalwart of daytime television, the woman who has had her fingers in more Hollywood pies than a particularly ambitious baker, has fallen from grace and has now been crowned as Hollywood’s reigning queen of unpopularity.
The ‘vote’, if we can call it that, seemed more akin to a Hollywood roast gone terribly wrong. As the cameras rolled, one after another, the esteemed panelists turned against their longtime colleague. The accusations were as numerous as they were absurd – ‘talks too much’, ‘always has to be right’, ‘laughs at her own jokes’. It was a regular airing of grievances, and the number one grievance was clear: Whoopi.
What led to this shocking upheaval, you may ask? We had the same question, so we did some digging. And like all juicy Hollywood tales, this one is steeped in drama, ego, and an overabundance of soy lattes. It appears that the trouble started when Whoopi, in her infinite wisdom, attempted to assume the role of both panelist and director. Not only had Whoopi been voted ‘Most Hated’ by her co-stars, but she also managed to take home the title of ‘Most Likely to Name-Drop’. As one anonymous source told us, “She couldn’t order a cup of coffee without mentioning she’s friends with Oprah.”
In response to the news, the public has been in an uproar. Petitions have started online, some demanding that Whoopi be ousted from ‘The View’, others demanding she be given her own show – presumably so she can annoy a whole new set of co-stars.
Surprisingly, Whoopi seems to be taking the news in stride. When asked for her comments, she simply laughed and said, “Hated, loved, it’s all the same to me. At least they’re still talking about me.” It appears that in true Whoopi fashion, she’s able to brush it off with a chuckle and a witty retort.
We’re not sure what’s next for Whoopi, but whatever it is, we’re certain it will be just as shocking and entertaining as the woman herself. Whether you love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Whoopi Goldberg is a force to be reckoned with. As she said herself, at least we’re still talking about her, and isn’t that really the point?
