According to a Business Insider article published Thursday evening, billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk reportedly paid off a former colleague via his aerospace business SpaceX after sexually proposing to her on board his private flight in 2016. The piece, authored by Rich McHugh, includes papers acquired from a friend of the flight attendant, who was reportedly paid $250,000 by SpaceX in 2018 to settle a sexual misconduct accusation filed by the employee against Musk.
Musk is accused of “exposing his erect penis to her, massaging her leg without permission, and promising to purchase her a horse in return for an erotic massage,” according to the papers. A statement signed by the attendant’s acquaintance, as well as email communication and other data acquired by Business Insider, are among the records. According to them, the event took place during a private massage aboard Musk’s Gulfstream plane.
Musk was contacted by the magazine for comment on Wednesday. He gave an introductory reaction before terminating the conversation. “If I were inclined to participate in sexual harassment, this would not be the first time it came to light in my whole 30-year career,” Musk told Business Insider. According to the magazine, he also described the investigation as a “politically driven hit job.” When contacted by phone, SpaceX Vice President of Legal Christopher Cardaci declined to comment on “any settlement arrangements,” according to Business Insider.
According to the statement, the 2016 contact that led to the subsequent settlement took place late in the year. Musk was discovered “totally nude save for a sheet covering the bottom part of his body” after beckoning the attendant to his room during a trip, according to the report. According to the report, Musk “touched her and promised to purchase her a horse if she’d do more” after exposing his erect penis to the SpaceX employee.
