If Elon Musk is known for anything, it’s talking. Whether he’s selling flame throwers, challenging Putin to a boxing match, or polling his Twitter followers on whether he should sell billions in Tesla shares, the serial meme lord has a history of wreaking havoc with his words. Musk’s intelligence and power, on the other hand, are undeniable. We must pay attention when Elon Musk speaks about the status of the planet and possible risks to mankind. Regardless of how exhausting it may be.
While Musk has long said that his biggest desire for mankind is to build a “self-sustaining metropolis on Mars,” it was only recently during a chat with Mathias Dopfner, the CEO of Axel Springer, that the world’s wealthiest man chose to reveal his deepest fears for humanity’s destiny. Extremism in Religion
While Musk did not comment on this during this interview, he has previously shared his opinions on the matter. “Religious fanaticism, if it continues to develop, is unquestionably a danger to scientific progress.” That might be a concern, depending on how far that goes. “With Musk thinking that humans becoming a multi-planetary species is the best way to extend humanity’s “likely lifetime,” it’s logical that any perceived impediment – in this instance, radical religious discourse – would be seen as one of humanity’s biggest dangers.
Birthrates Are Declining
Musk remarked, “I spent a lot of time talking about the birthrate problem.” “That might be the single greatest danger to human civilization’s future.” The CDC stated in 2021 that the US birth rate dropped by 4% from 2019 to 2020, the largest single-year reduction in over 50 years. It was also the lowest number of newborns in the United States since 1979.
“I’m quite concerned about the birthrate,” Musk said. “That has been bothering me for a long time because I don’t see it changing.” It gets worse every year. And this drives my pals insane.”While most gentlemen in Elon Musk’s tax bracket seem to be anxious about growing old and, by implication, dying, Musk appears to be more concerned about the opposite. He was referring to US politicians who are substantially older than the majority of the people and so lose touch with the typical constituent.
He told Döpfner, “I absolutely would want to keep my health for a longer length of time.” “However, I am not terrified of death.” I believe it would be a relief.” He said, “I don’t believe we should aim to make people live for a very long life.” “That it would cause society to suffocate.” “The fact is that the majority of individuals do not alter their minds.” They just perish. So, if they don’t die, we’ll be stuck with outdated notions and society won’t progress,” he said.
Artificial Intelligence
Elon Musk also declined to comment on this worry in this case, but we’ve been listening to him speak about a lot of these notions for a long time. “As AI becomes far smarter than humans, the relative intelligence ratio will probably be close to, if not larger than, that of a person and a cat,” Musk told Vox in 2017. “I believe we must exercise extreme caution in the evolution of AI.” This anxiety hasn’t deterred Musk from working on AI himself, as he continues to build ‘Neuralink,’ a sophisticated AI-led firm that aims to produce implanted brain-machine interfaces. He recently said that this technique would eventually enable paraplegics to walk again, and clinical trials will begin later this year.
