Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has complimented Chinese labour, claiming that, in contrast, Americans “want to avoid coming to work at any costs.” He made the remarks during an online interview when asked which electric car start-up firm had most impressed him. The entrepreneur is now the world’s wealthiest person, according to Forbes.
He began by praising Volkswagen for the strides they have achieved in the area, before stating that the majority of Tesla’s competition would come from China, where the company is building a new production facility. As a result, VW, which is not a startup but might be considered one from the aspect of electric vehicles, is making the greatest progress, according to him, speaking at the FT Live event. “VW is making the most progress on the electric car front, apart from Tesla,” he said.
In his next speech, Musk extolled China’s automakers for their fierce rivalry. China, which is the world’s largest automobile market and where Tesla has a production unit in Shanghai, is the world’s largest auto market. As he said, “I believe that there will be some really powerful firms coming out of China, just because there is such a large number of supertalented, industrious individuals in China who firmly believe in manufacturing.”
Rather than simply working through the night, they will work through the night until 3 a.m., at which point they won’t even leave the plant.
In contrast to this, individuals in the United States are attempting to avoid going to work altogether. Mr. Musk did not name any of his American competitors, Lucid or Rivian, in his speech. Meanwhile, Volkswagen sold the greatest number of electric vehicles in Europe in 2021 and has already sold out of electric vehicles in Europe and the United States for the next year, 2022. In a recent announcement, the business said that it has a backlog of 300,000 orders in only Western Europe.
