Elon Musk: Do you believe in God?, What Religion Is He? Listen to his answer

These days, public people are not afraid to speak out on personal and societal matters. Elon Musk is one such celebrity, known for his outspokenness and controversies. What are his religious beliefs, and does he follow a particular religion? Elon Musk is an atheist. His religious beliefs may best be classified as atheist or agnostic. His only hope is in science and a methodical grasp of the cosmos and how its rules function, as well as humanity. Was Musk persuaded to take a secular attitude to life by his friends, or has he dabbled in spirituality? Continue reading to learn more!

Elon Musk is a man who has never prayed

Elon Musk discussed his atheism in an interview with Rainn Wilson, an actor, novelist, and businessman. Rainn comes from a profoundly religious family, and on his old online series and current podcast Metaphysical Milkshake, he has discussed spirituality with all of his guests. The actor Rainn Wilson was brought up in the Baha’i faith, and throughout his childhood, he held the beliefs that “the entire world was one family, that all races were one, that men and women were equal… that science and religion could agree and should agree, and that this was how God meant it to be.”

When Musk casually stated his vehement anti-prayer position in the lightning round, it may have come as a minor surprise to him. Wilson initially inquired about Musk’s religion, to which he answered that he did not have any. “I definitely commit myself to the betterment of mankind via technology,” he remarked. “I didn’t even pray when I nearly died of malaria,” Musk joked when asked whether he prays. Wilson responded quickly, exclaiming, “Wow.” That’s not prayer at all.”

However, it seems that Musk is thinking about more than the plain dos and don’ts of religion as he sees them. “The solution is the cosmos,” Musk says in a famous phrase from the show. “What exactly is your question?” Nonetheless, Elon Musk was overheard saying to “any entities that are listening” to “please, bless this launch” at the location of a much-awaited Falcon lunch.

The remark was reported in Bloomberg’s biography of Elon Musk, but without any official response, it’s unclear if the remark was satirical or not. However, given what we know about Elon and his strong belief in memes, we’re leaning toward the former.

Elon Musk believes in the strength of the human spirit

Simply stated, Elon thinks that we are the ones with the true “greater power.”

According to Elon, he said:

Do I believe that all of this is being orchestrated by some type of master intelligence? I doubt so, since then you’d have to answer the question, “Where does the master intellect originate from?” … I believe the basic rules of physics can be used to explain this… From basic ingredients, a complex phenomenon emerges.

In other words, although Elon is agnostic at best, he believes in the supremacy of human intellect. In his Metaphysical Milkshake episode, he even said that extraterrestrial life on other planets would not be intellectual in the same manner that humans are.

Elon Musk is a proponent of meditation

Elon Musk has been cited as one of the numerous celebrities that practice Transcendental Meditation, despite the fact that it is not considered a spiritual practice. Transcendental Meditation (TM) is marketed as a simple and natural practice that has been supported by hundreds of scientific research throughout the globe.

“TM works for a lot of people and that’s terrific,” Elon Musk stated, despite the fact that he’d only done it “7 or 8 times ever.” Musk “loves his meditation to reset and rebalance,” according to his TM instructor, Bob Roth. We can only speculate whether Musk had grown more in touch with his inner field of creation and quiet by the time he made his remarks, which occurred following Musk’s tweet.

Elon Musk isn’t the only successful entrepreneur or celebrity that uses TM. Tim Ferris, whose four-hour workday may be at odds with Musk’s deadline-driven schedule, interviewed over 200 individuals for his book and discovered that almost 80% of them meditated. Musk’s own instructor, Bob Roth, has taught not just millionaires and billionaires, but also at-risk youngsters, handicapped children, and individuals from poor neighborhoods. This might explain Elon Musk’s attraction to individuals who are stressed out and have a natural desire to learn new things, both of which appear to be personified in him.
