Los Angeles, CA – In a stunning turn of events, comedian and actress Kathy Griffin has filed for bankruptcy just one month after making fun of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on social media.
The controversy began when Griffin tweeted a photo of herself holding what appeared to be the severed head of Musk, with the caption “Hey @elonmusk, can I borrow your guillotine?” The tweet quickly went viral, sparking outrage among Musk’s legions of fans and leading to calls for Griffin to be punished.
Now, just a month later, Griffin has announced that she is broke and unable to pay her bills. In a statement released to the press, she blamed Musk for her financial troubles.
“Ever since I made that joke about him, Elon Musk has been out to ruin my life,” Griffin said. “He’s been hacking my bank accounts, stealing my identity, and using his vast resources to sabotage my career. I’m completely ruined, and it’s all his fault.”
Griffin’s claims have been met with skepticism by many, who see her bankruptcy as the result of her own financial mismanagement rather than any actions by Musk.
